Land Rover Considers Adopting Performance-Driven Sub-Brand

The 2012 Range Rover Evoque may be in its first model year, but that hasn't stopped it from having a huge impact on the rest of the Land Rover lineup. More specifically, the compact SUV is rumored to be the source of inspiration for a new performance-driven sub-brand, which the British automaker is currently considering.

Also influenced by the Jaguar R moniker, the new Land Rover lineup would feature an edgier version of the Evoque, as well as supercharged variants of the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. While models like these already challenge the conventions of everyday SUVs, with their topnotch build quality and bold styling, we also know that the designers and engineers at Land Rover are always working to improve upon them. As such, we're eager to learn what could be in store for the vehicles in question.

Unfortunately, the British automaker has yet to release any specs on the retuned models. In fact, they've not yet even confirmed that the lineup will exist. Rather, John Edwards, Global Brand Diector of Land Rover, says that the idea is simply under consideration.

Still, this hasn't stopped the Land Rover enthusiasts at Land Rover of Hoffman Estates, located at 1051 West Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates, IL 60169, from dreaming about the rush of an even more aggressive  lineup of SUVs from the brilliant minds at our favorite luxury automaker. As such, you can rest assured that we'll keep you updated on any word of the new sub-brand's progress towards production, so stay tuned.
