Land Rover Lends a Hand to Support World Aids Day

Recently, on the 1st of December to be precise, World AIDS Day was held. This Day is a reminder to the world that, in places like South Africa, thousands of people die every day from AIDS-related sickness and live with HIV. That's why our hero company, Land Rover, has teamed with the Red Crescent Societies and the International Federation of Red Cross to support these people. The IFRC is only one of the company's six Global Humanitarian and Conservation Partners in the Land Rovers, Our Planet initiative. Started in 2010, the three-year partnership named "Reaching Vulnerable People Around the World" between Land Rover and the IFRC supports many global projects, including HIV programs in South Africa, the Netherlands, and China.

In the last year, the companies have aided over 240 vulnerable children and orphans with financial and emotional support, as well as helping 271 people living with HIV by funding home-based care. The program also helps to spread HIV prevention materials and messages and a hearty meal to children. The companies have also reached almost 40 thousand people struggling with HIV/ AIDS in China throughout the last year, including prevention, treatment, and support programs. Homes of struggling families were visited and accessed, and those with the greatest need received clothing and nutritional assistance from the Red Cross. Land Rover specifically helped by donating twenty thousand Euros to the Children & HIV project, as well as providing ten Land Rover vehicles on loan.

In short, Land Rover not only has a fantastic selection of new 2012 Land Rover vehicles like those at Land Rover of Hoffman Estates, the company also supports important philanthropic efforts.
