British auto brand Jaguar Land Rover, part of the Tata Motor Group, has jumped on the opportunity to expand in the fast-growing Chinese market through a new joint venture with China's Chery Automobile. China's auto market has boomed in the past few years and is JLRS's third largest market after the UK and the United States. One in six new Land Rovers, new Range Rovers and Jaguars are shipped to China, were sales have increased 60 percent in the last year.

British model and fashion designer Victoria Beckham may be extremely knowledgeable about the fashion industry, but recently, she proved she had the skills to design a special edition of the new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque automobile as well. The fashion icon was said to have her famous soccer-player husband, David Beckham, in mind when she designed the vehicle. She comments, "I've stayed very true to myself. I've designed a car that I want to drive, a car that I think David wants to drive . . . I think that though women will drive this car, it has a masculine edge. I think it's very cool."1

Though it's had several names since its premiere in 1948 (such as the Land Rover Ninety or Land Rover One Ten), the Land Rover Defender has always been known as a dependable off-road vehicle that has often been used for agricultural purposes. Now, there's a new Defender on the way for the 2015 model year, and Land Rover claims it will be just as capable off-road as the original. However, the 2015 model should also be much more appropriate for daily driving than previous models and should look a lot less like farm equipment.

Land Rover Drivers Have Messier Adventures

A new Land Rover ad will soon make its debut in the UK, but it's so clever that it's also attracting plenty of U.S. fans as well. To the sounds of the popular 1960s hit "Born Free" by Andy Williams (you'd know it if you heard it!), we see a couple enter a dry cleaner on several occasions and deposit soaked goggles and slippers, vests covered in sand, and outfits nearly torn to bits. The latter even has a large tarantula crawling out of one of its pockets.  While the owner tries to look nonplussed, he can't help but wonder what the contented-looking couple has been up to.

Ten years might not seem like very long to you, but when we're talking about how long a specific vehicle model has been on the market, ten years is a significant amount of time.  What vehicle are we talking about?  Why, it's the iconic Land Rover Range Rover! To celebrate its tenth birthday, Land Rover is launching three Special Editions of the Range Rover: the Wesminster Edition, the TDV8 Autobiography, and the Supercharged Autobiography.

Yesterday, February 29, 2012, the one millionth Land Rover Discovery (marketed here in the U.S. as the Land Rover L4) rolled off the production lines in Solihull, West Midlands- one of the British company's three UK plants. In celebration of this milestone, this Land Rover will go on a true adventure- an eight-thousand-mile "Journey of Discovery" from the UK to China to raise money for the Red Cross, which  uses Land Rover and other 4 x 4 vehicles in its endeavors across the globe.

No matter who you are, the Land Rover Range Rover probably comes to mind when someone asks you to name a few iconic SUV and off-road vehicles. The Range Rover has been in production since 1970, and the current 2012 Range Rover line and now encompasses two other models- the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Today's standard Range Rover hasn't received a major facelift since 2002, which means one is on the way soon!

Land Rover certainly seems to be doing something (or a few things!) right this year. The 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque began the year on a positive note by winning several award- one of which was the "American Truck of the Year" designation at the 2012 North American International Show in Detroit. This followed 19 percent global sales increases for the company for the 2011 year.

Land Rover now has another award to add to its growing collection. The 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been named Autoweek's "Best of the Best" in the truck category for its unique style, impressive performance, and value. It was cited as offering "crisp handling [and] satisfying power" and for "break[ing] new Ground for Land Rover, edging out the Mercedes ML and BMW X3."1

Recently, on the 1st of December to be precise, World AIDS Day was held. This Day is a reminder to the world that, in places like South Africa, thousands of people die every day from AIDS-related sickness and live with HIV. That's why our hero company, Land Rover, has teamed with the Red Crescent Societies and the International Federation of Red Cross to support these people. The IFRC is only one of the company's six Global Humanitarian and Conservation Partners in the Land Rovers, Our Planet initiative. Started in 2010, the three-year partnership named "Reaching Vulnerable People Around the World" between Land Rover and the IFRC supports many global projects, including HIV programs in South Africa, the Netherlands, and China.
